Karen L. Swanson has been writing about cholesterol since 2011, when a diagnosis of high cholesterol drove her to launch GoLowCholesterol.com. On her national-award-winning blog, Karen explains cholesterol issues in plain terms and shares strategies for lowering cholesterol with a “lo-co” approach to food and exercise.
Karen is the author of two books about cholesterol, both with Rockridge Press: The 30-Minute Low Cholesterol Cookbook and The Low Cholesterol Cookbook & Action Plan. She has written articles for Healthline.com and Answers.com.
Her picture book biography, Swinging into History. Toni Stone: Big-League Baseball’s First Woman Player will be published by Calkins Creek, an imprint of Astra Books for Young Readers in Spring 2024.
She holds an MBA from Harvard University and lives with her husband in the New York City area. (That used to say, ‘husband and son,’ but after college DS defected to the left coast—so Karen also travels to the East Bay.)
